How It Works
It is a flexible vaginal ring that is about 2 inches
in diameter. It is inserted in the vagina once a month. Like the Pill it
releases hormones that prevent the ovaries from producing eggs, it changes the
vaginal mucous to prevent sperm from reaching the egg and changes the lining of
the uterus to prevent pregnancy. The walls of the vagina absorb the hormone.
You insert the ring into your vagina for a period of 21 days and then remove it
for 7 days, during which time you will get your period.
